Why Forgiveness?

Why Forgiveness? I mean, I ‘m hurting and I want revenge; I do not want the one who hurt me to feel all right. No I want her to share my torment; after all she is the cause of it. This may very well be your stance right now and it is okay; you must deal right where you are. To suppress these emotions would do you harm, so express them, release them, but do so constructively, realizing that your bitterness and thoughts of ill-will toward your offender will likely harm you more than it will him/her. In fact, for your betterment, journalizing your emotions or sharing them with a trusted confidant is the better option.
After nursing your emotions and soothing your spirit, move forward. This means that you must let go of all unforgiveness. Yes, ultimately you have to forgive. Forgiveness liberates you. Refusal to do so impedes your emotional, mental and physical growth. You see when you sit around and contemplate the demise of another person, you undermine yourself. You sit idly for hours daydreaming about another person’s misfortune and you may get a twisted sense of pleasure from doing so. However, persistence into such idleness spins a spiraling downward web into more bitterness until it envelops the core of you. You become intertwined in this dungeon of hatred and spite and it follows you wherever you go. It binds itself to all facets of your life hindering your relationships and activities. It becomes rottenness to your bones. This is why I urge you not to let the sting of bitterness linger; cure it in its initial onset with the requisite of Forgiveness.
Again, human growth necessitates forgiveness. Soaring like an eagle only occurs when weights of pessimism are tossed away. In other words, enthusiasm can not abide with rivaling emotions–hate and love; purity and lewdness; forgiveness and unforgiveness– these cannot kiss; in either case one emotion must succumb to the other. Thus, the answer to the question: Why forgiveness? I want to soar like an eagle.
