When facing struggles or periods of emotions that generally evoke a feeling that you must strive and try harder to be okay and to make things okay, practice “hanging in there” with the radical approach of trust and not of fear. Hang trusting and not fearing, God is able to uphold you through whatever circumstances or situation you are facing. When you are up against a challenge; however, it is crucial, in order that you be able to hang trusting, that you do not shield yourself from solitude by an endless array of T.V., people, phone calls, books and scheduled time pressures. You’re up against great opposition and you’ve got to make proper use of your defensive spiritual weapon of prayer & abiding in His Presence, otherwise you will be incapable of hearing the voice of God and therefore getting the answers and solutions to overcoming life’s obstacles confronting you. Knowing God requires the spiritual discipline to shut out the world for regular times of solace/relief in order to listen to His voice.
Scriptures
Over in Isaiah 30:15 it says in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. During times of struggle the Holy Spirit will tell you which way to go. It says in verse 19 19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: 21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Isaiah 30:19-21 (KJV)
Promises and Warnings
20 “I am going to send an Angel before you to protect you on the way and bring you to the place I have prepared. 21 Be attentive to Him and listen to His voice. Do not defy Him, because He will not forgive your acts of rebellion, for My name is in Him. 22 But if you will carefully obey Him and do everything I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and a foe to your foes.
Ex 23:20-22 (HCSB)
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:26-27 (KJV)
Condemnation of the Egyptian Alliance
1 Woe to the rebellious children! [This is] the Lord’s declaration. They carry out a plan, but not Mine, They make an alliance, but against My will, piling sin on top of sin. 2 They set out to go down to Egypt without asking My advice, in order to seek shelter under Pharaoh’s protection and take refuge in Egypt’s shadow.
3 But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame, and refuge in Egypt’s shadow your disgrace. 4 For though his princes are at Zoan and his messengers reach as far as Hanes, 5 everyone will be ashamed because of a people who can’t help.
They are of no benefit, they are no help; they are good for nothing but shame and reproach.
Isaiah 30:1-5 (HCSB)
15 For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said: “You will be delivered by returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence.
But you are not willing.” 16 You say, “No! We will escape on horses”—
Isaiah 30:15-16 (HCSB)
